A1 English grammar for teachers
A1 students are learning to survive in English: introduce themselves, describe their day and ask for simple things. Grammar at this level is small and repetitive on purpose. Short, frequent practice beats long explanations.
What A1 students can do

- Talk about routines and simple facts
- Say where things are
- Ask and answer simple questions
Teaching priorities
- Keep explanations to one or two sentences and a clear example.
- Use pictures and real objects before written rules.
- Repeat the same structures in different topics until they are automatic.
